FT2232 bridge

Features Platform for building converters:

  • USB to two RS-232 Ports
  • USB to two RS-485 Ports
  • USB to isolated JTAG
  • USB to isolated SPI

Available in two variants:

  • Low cost FT2232D converter without isolation barrier
  • Completely galvanically isolated FT2232D bridge

Description

Board incorporates FT2232D double-channel multi-purpose USB to UART/FIFO controller which can be configured individually in several different modes. As well as a UART interface, a FIFO interface and the Bit-Bang I/O mode of the 2-nd generation FT232B and FT245B devices, the FT2232D offers a variety of additional new modes of operation including a Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) interface which is designed specifically for synchronous serial protocols such as I2C, JTAG and SPI bus. Interface operation mode and USB description strings are configurable in external 93C46 EEPROM. Galvanic isollation is made with a 2.5kV digital isolator from Analog Devices ADuM3160 and monolitic 1W DC/DC converter. FT2232 isolation bridge structure
